We'd Like to Point Out That We Beat the Giants by...
While not the worst loss by an eventual “Champion” (I use the word loosely, since seven teams trampled over this Giants team this season), it’s definitely in the top 10: http://www.funtrivia.com/askft/Question109976.html.

I love this man. I love this team. I love this...
New Orleans Media: If you would be more than stunned about not coming back next year to the New Orleans Saints, can you talk about that in the context of your off-the-field work and your relationship with New Orleans over the last six years? Would you have a quantified number of what’s gone into this community since you’ve been here?
Drew Brees: I think that’s been one of the things Brittany and I have put the most pride in. It’s been an unbelievable journey for us thus far these six years to watch how far not only the team and the organization, but the City of New Orleans and the mental psyche of the city in no matter what knocks us down, no matter what happens, we’re always going to come back stronger. I think in so many ways, the city has come back stronger. Everybody has stepped up to do their part. That’s all Brittany and I have tried to do, to do our part and understand the platform that we’ve been given and the opportunity that we’ve been given to give back to the community and leave a legacy and have a positive impact on so many people, especially young people. You talk about creating a long-term plan for the city and giving people hope, whether it be, obviously we feel strongly about helping kids and young people and helping kids and education, provide opportunities for young people to succeed in life. In the end all young people want to know is that there is somebody that cares about them and is willing to sacrifice for them and provide them with the opportunities to succeed. I think what that is makes the lasting impression on them to want to give back and do things for others. That’s what it’s all about. Especially as you get older, that’s what I think life is all about, making a positive impact, leaving a legacy and leaving your mark better than you found it. That’s what you try to do. You know what, who knows what the future holds? We’re always going to to have a strong connection with New Orleans. We’re always going to give back to New Orleans. I’m talking like 20, 30, 40 years from now. This is a place that is very special in our lives. We’ve had two of our kids raised there. Hopefully we’ll have more in the future. This has been on of the things that we take the most pride in. I obviously take a lot of pride in what I do on the football field, because that has the ability to influence a lot of people. That puts smiles on people’s faces. That gives people a pep in their step on Monday morning when they go back to work. That does so much for the city. We have the greatest fans in the world. There’s no doubt about that. I think each and every day I think about what can I do to make my team better, make my city better, that’s my mentality.

—For a late lunch with a game on as background noise, drink a glass of wine with some good cheese and French bread.
—Read a book. Occasionally look up to check the score.

gridirongirl:
The close of every football season is emotionally taxing. The what ifs and coulda beens cause many a sleepless night for everyone involved, the coaches, the players, the owners, the fans.
At the close of the 2009 season, after we won the Super Bowl, we were filled with a giddiness that is reserved but for one city each February. Coach Payton, Drew Brees and everyone else on the...
molecularanatomy asked: Are we allowed to refer to 2012 as the year of Home Field Advantage for The Saints? Cause how awesome is it going to be if we secure the 1 seed, Play the divisional at home, play the championship at home, AND play the Superbowl at home.

Anonymous asked: The only problem I have with Spagnuolo is his name is harder to pronounce than "Williams." I'm going to call him Steve.
Saints hire Steve Spagnuolo as D-coordinator →
gridirongirl:
“Before taking over in St. Louis, Spagnuolo had top-10 defenses with the Giants in the 2007 and 2008 seasons. His 2007 defense led the NFL with 53 sacks and the 2008 unit was sixth in the league with 42.”
Same defense that upset Tom Brady and the 18-0 Patriots?
Awesome.
We’re happy.
In fact, we’ll probably write about it.

I was there in person and didn't drink during the game (didn't wanna be pissing on the floors all game). ... So any chance I can get a saints bingo while I re watch it?

This is another in our continuing series of essays answering the question “What do the New Orleans Saints mean to you?” In it, Alexander J. Hancock of NOLA Eater explains Saints fandom—and New Orleans itself—as an essential part of our cultural identify.
So, I’ll be completely honest. I have no real reason to love the Saints, especially not with the obsessive...
Anonymous asked: Its not Greg Williams fault. No one can prepare for a random QB run. Maybe if we called a timeout we could have set up better. We don't have the same team we had when we won the superbowl. We did not have nearly as many turnovers. Something I am sure will be worked on in the off season.

Why I Love the Saints, An "Outsider's" Perspective

But there’s something to say about Gregg Williams—something that may indicate flip-flopping given my previous piece on how it’s not Gregg Williams’s fault. But I mean, yeah—about that.
I’ll take a step back from previous and, while I won’t disavow everything I said—Gregg Williams certainly wasn’t the only problem, as I’ve maintained...

Yet Further Motivation For the True Lombardi Gras
Super Bowl XLVII will take place on February 3, 2013 in the Superdome. Mardi Gras 2013 will take place on February 12, 2013 in New Orleans.
And you thought 2009 was a party? As they say, you ain’t seen nothin’ yet.
vondode asked: I figured the Giants would be able to beat GB at home, and boy did they. Seeing that happen really made the loss yesterday worse because it would have given us the NFC Champ game in the dome. But I think you are right when it comes to next season. I think the team will be hungry for that Super Bowl more than ever with it being in the dome.

That Wonderful Question of Why
garrisoncenterstage:
Perhaps I’m jumping the gun because I (so far) haven’t seen as many “hater” messages as I expected today (knocking vigorously on wood). However, I did see this post on Saints 11 and my Irish temper flared high and bright.
How is it that people are so willing to gloat and jeer over one bad game (and really, the game was a lot closer than it originally appeared it was...
srenner-deactivated20120120 asked: I just started re-watching the game. It didn't really register with me at the time, but San Fran got their first 17 points in a span of about 3 minutes (game time). 10 of the 17 points game off turnovers that put them inside our red zone and the other 7 came off good field position... It felt like an eternity at the time.
whatpartofthegameisthis asked: What is your opinion on Drew Brees being exposed as a overrated due to his dome inflated stats? Surely you must agree that he is a slob that is nowhere near the God quarterback, Aaron Rodgers.
